Very low frequency detectors generally function within 3 - 30 kHz range of frequency. This type of detector is sensitive to coins, relics and jewelry and has the ability to separate precious items from trashy items.

But unlike pulse induction detectors, the very low frequency detector is influenced by the minerals in the ground. These come with sensitivity adjustments. These are also equipped with a ground balance control. You can customize the device so as to minimize signals that are caused by vibrations produced by the underwater minerals.

Broad band spectrum underwater detectors transmit signals in multitudes of frequencies simultaneously. Broad band spectrum transmits 17 frequencies together. They range from 1.5 - 25 kHz.

You can use these underwater metal detectors while strolling along the beach, or when you are wading in water which comes up to your waist. If you are a diver, you can venture in deep seas and with these detectors, you might even locate remains of shipwreck. Put the master volume on the Line 6 to 2 and set the Gain up to 10. THat will give a nice distortion. Other than that, get a Boss DS-1 distortion to get sustain.

We are all under pressure to reduce our mains water consumption. In using rainwater off our own roofs, we can reduce our mains water use by half and contribute to reducing our carbon footprint overall.

However, most rainwater systems need a pump to get the water to where it is needed. Also, the pump must be powerful and requires electricity. This way does not help the carbon footprint and also the running cost has to be taken into consideration when fitting a rainwater system. Typical "direct feed" rainwater systems have a pressure sensitive pump which maintains pressure on the rainwater pipes to toilets, washing machines and any non-drinking-water tap. The pump switches itself on every time an appliance is used. Furthermore, as pressure in the pipe run drops, the pump will start up again even when there has been no demand on the water supply. The pump, therefore, "hunts", i.e. it automatically turns itself off and on as needed throughout the day and night. So because the pump starting up draws a peak surge in power, electricity use is unnecessarily high. This effort also accelerates the wear on the pump bearings, seals and motor.

Using a gravity feed system in conjunction with a specially-designed header tank solves this issue.

Energy-saving rainwater systems use a smart rainwater header tank. The main storage tank pump feeds rainwater up to the header tank. This way the appliances are fed by gravity. In smart header tanks, such as the Rain Director, the electronic sensor will start the pump only when the tank is completely empty. A 91 litre header tank will last for 12 toilet flushes, and a clothes washing machine cycle, i.e. more or less an average family's daily use. It also takes just under two minutes for the pump to refill the header tank. The pump would only cycle one time per day in your average home.

About ten times less power will be used. Presuming one washing machine use and 12 WC flushes each day, with a direct-supply pump system energy use is @ 1.5 kilowatt-hours (the same as using a 1000 watt electric fire for an hour and a half each day). With a smart header tank system, it is only 0.15 kwh per day. So with 1000 kwh costing around 110 GBP, the direct-feed system costs 59 GBP per annum in electricity, and the smart header tank system 6 GBP.

The development of solar-powered header tank systems will reduce energy costs to nil.

Why is a solar water heater storage tank placed at higher level than the solar panel itself?

Help is really appreciated, since I will be sitting for a physics exam tomorrow. Thanks in advance!

Hey Glenn, don't know if you'll get this in time for the exam, but I will post it anyway. The only solar water heaters that need to have the storage tank above the panel are the thermo siphon types. When solar hot water was new, these were the only kind. The sun would heat the water during the day, and when the water in the solar collector exceeded the temperature in the tank, it would be lighter due to thermal expansion, so gravity would slowly force it into the tank, which displaced cooler water from the tank back into the collector. They worked the same as the old heatalaters built into stone fireplaces years ago. Most domestic hot water, or dhw solar systems today use a circulation pump to force the hot water from the collector to the tank, which is typically in the basement. The pump is usually driven by a small solar electric panel sitting along side the larger solar water collector. They work well together because when the sun is shining, it is warming the water the same time the pump is getting electricity.

New Report "Indian Commercial Vehicle Industry" available through Aarkstore Enterprise

After recording a strong performance in FY07, the Indian Commercial Vehicle (CV) industry fell into hard times in FY08. The domestic sales of the industry grew by 4.07% in FY08 as compared to a growth of 33.26% in FY07. The Medium & Heavy Commercial Vehicles Goods Carrier (M&HCV GC) segment particularly bore the brunt of the situation, with the domestic sales in this segment declining by 5.88% in FY08. The Light Commercial Vehicles Goods Carrier (LCV GC) segment, due to diversity of its usage, managed to clock a decent growth of 11.65%. The Passenger Carriers (PC) segment registered a strong growth of 26.51% on the back of ordering by both, private players and State Transport Undertakings (STUs).

The first half of FY09 brought more bad news for the industry as, in addition to M&HCV GC segment, the PC segment and the Export sales too remained subdued. Even the torch-bearing LCV GC sub-segment of Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) <=3.5 tonnes witnessed a slowing growth rate in H1 FY09 and started H2 FY09 with a y-o-y decline of 19.63% in the month of October. The rising interest rates, stringent lending norms, falling industrial growth rates and resumption of overloading are the main reasons for the current mayhem in the CV market.

The bottom line of the manufacturers too came under pressure especially in Q4 FY08 and Q1 FY09 due to the increase in input cost. The average steel prices remained high in FY08 and in Q1 FY09 and the rubber prices too started creeping up in Q1 FY09. To recover costs, the manufacturers resorted to a series of vehicle price hikes from beginning of FY09 onwards. This led to a tricky situation where manufacturers increased vehicle prices when demand was actually falling.

The situation at the freight operator end too has been grim for some time now. After seeing a healthy freight rate growth in FY07, the rates came under pressure in FY08. However, as average diesel prices declined in FY08, the operators managed to sail through. In H1 FY09, diesel prices increased but the freight rate hike has not been commensurate with the diesel price hike. As a result, the operator profitability has come under pressure. Also, with rising vehicle cost, rising tyre cost and increased financing cost; the fleet operators are resorting to postponement of new vehicle purchases.

Despite such overcast situation, manufacturers have been trying to boost sales through introduction of new models. A slew of launches were made in FY08, both in the GC and PC segments. For e.g. Force Motors (FM) launched its GC models ‘M4’ (GVW <=3.5 tonnes) and ‘Traveller Strong’ (GVW >3.5 to Indian Commercial Vehicle Industry 2

<=5 tonnes). Tata Motors (TM) launched its tippers ‘1618’ and ‘2518’. It also launched multi-axle trucks ‘2516 Super Turbo’ and ‘3118’ and Tractor Trailer (TT) ‘Novus – LPS 4923 TC’. Ashok Leyland Limited (ALL) launched its multi-axle vehicle ‘3121 H’ and TT ‘4921’. Eicher Motors (EM) launched a multi-axle vehicle ‘HERCULES 35.31’. In the PC segment, TM launched its PC model ‘Super Milo Bus Chassis’, ALL launched its luxury bus model ‘Luxura’ in addition to two bus models, targeting the Bus Rapid Transport System (BRTS) and an inter-intra city bus model ‘12m BS II’ and Isuzu-Swaraj Mazda (SM) launched a 40-seater luxury bus. A number of launches are lined up for FY09 too.

Recently, the industry also saw a few collaborations between the domestic and the international manufacturers. ALL and Nissan Motor entered into a Joint Venture (JV) for manufacturing LCV, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) entered into a JV with Warrenville, a wholly-owned affiliate of Navistar International Corporation for manufacturing diesel engines for M&HCVs, EM and AB Volvo (Volvo) entered into a JV for manufacturing CVs.

Growth Estimates

In the short term, the industry growth is expected to be weighed down by the adverse macro-economic environment. Though the interest rates are not likely to climb up any more in this fiscal, it will take some time for the availability of credit to improve. In FY09, CARE Research expects the GC unit sales to grow between 4-5% while in tonnage terms, the segment is likely to see de-growth of 2-3%. CARE Research estimates the GC segment to register a 5-year Compounded Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 6-7.5% in tonnage sales. The PC segment is expected to grow between 6-8%.

Just be sure to get a brand name kit, like hellion or hp performance kit, With the cheap ebay kits parts are made cheap and don't last long. I would just save up the extra and get one from hellion they are the king when it comes to mustangs and turbos.
